Accessibility
Byourself.es is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our Site and, in doing so, to adhere to the relevant accessibility standards recognized across the European Union, including the objectives of the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
1. Our commitment
We believe that an accessible online store benefits everyone. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing part of how we design, build, and maintain this Site — not a one-time checklist. We review new pages and features against accessibility best practice before and after they go live, and we prioritize fixes for any genuine barrier that is reported to us.
2. Standards we measure ourselves against
- WCAG 2.1, Level AA — the internationally recognized benchmark for web accessibility, covering the four core principles: content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust
- The European Accessibility Act (EAA) — EU Directive 2019/882, which sets accessibility requirements for e-commerce and other digital services offered within the Union
- Applicable national implementing legislation of the EAA in the markets we serve
3. Conformance status
This Site is in a state of partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to close these gaps on an ongoing basis. This statement will be updated to reflect our progress.
4. Measures we have taken
- Semantic, well-structured HTML with a logical heading hierarchy, so screen readers and assistive technologies can navigate the Site predictably
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background across key pages, in line with WCAG contrast ratio requirements
- Full keyboard operability for core journeys — browsing, product selection, cart, and checkout — without reliance on a mouse
- Descriptive alternative text for product images, where supplied
- Resizable, legible typography that supports browser and OS-level zoom and text-resizing without loss of content or functionality
- Clear, consistent navigation and labelling across the Site, including forms with associated labels for input fields
- Visible focus indicators to support keyboard-only navigation
5. Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Certain third-party components embedded in the Site (for example, payment or shipping widgets provided by external services) are controlled by those providers and may not fully meet the same standard we apply to our own content
- Some older or archived content may not have been fully reviewed against current standards
- Video or image content added by us or by product manufacturers may not yet include full captioning or alternative descriptions in every case
We treat every reported limitation as a priority item for review, not a permanent state.
6. Assessment approach
Our conformance status is based on ongoing internal review of key templates and page types against the WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria, combined with direct user feedback received through the channel below. We do not claim a formal third-party accessibility audit certificate at this time; this statement reflects a good-faith, continuously improving assessment rather than a one-off external certification.
7. Compatibility
This Site is designed to be compatible with current and recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and with commonly used assistive technologies, including screen readers, on both desktop and mobile devices.
8. Feedback and contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this Site. If you encounter a barrier while browsing or purchasing, please contact us via the Contact page with:
- The page or feature where the issue occurred
- A description of the difficulty you experienced
- The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using, if known
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback promptly and to address genuine barriers as a priority within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Enforcement and escalation
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you are entitled to escalate the matter to the market surveillance or consumer protection authority responsible for enforcing digital accessibility requirements in your country of residence, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act and its national implementing measures.
10. Review and updates
This statement is reviewed periodically and whenever a significant change is made to the Site, to keep it an accurate reflection of our current accessibility status and ongoing commitments.
This statement was last reviewed: July 2026.
